The awesome potential of the mind and the strength of the individual “free will” are extremely powerful tools to be reckoned with. Magnificent results can be achieved when learned how to channel this source. Once “noise” and “clutter” are sufficiently removed from consciousness; effective meditation and creative visualization techniques have produced outstanding conclusions.
Living in a busy western city can be a very “noisy” truth. The media bombards us by telling us what will make us attractive, healthy and happy! Being a Vancouver healer necessitates a higher consciousness to keep such distractions quiet. Sometimes individuals require counsel in understanding how to recognize and shelve these forces away.
Herbs
My extensive travels to the Middle East and Asia have enabled me to acquire a vast collection of rare herbs. These scarce herbal remedies are used to advance the healing process.
As a Vancouver healer, I go to certain extents to be equipped with the most advantageous supplies. I am committed to providing quality healing as another means to maintain my own fulfillment, wellness and happiness.
Yoga
It is important to use every means available to heal and fortify the body. Physical activity at one’s own comfort level will help to realign the mind, body, heart and keep every aspect centered. Yoga can be immensely useful in purifying thoughts and regenerating the body.
As a Vancouver healer, I am interested in remaining connected with the Canadian landscape. I am more inclined to enjoy yoga within nature whenever weather conditions permit.
Teas
I prepare extraordinary hot and cool teas by using a blend of ingredients from remote locations throughout South East Asia and the Middle East. These are used in the enrichment of the healing process.
Tea is rapidly gaining popularity in the west. As a Vancouver healer, I have recently encountered a tremendous demand for my custom enrichment teas, which are not available in regular tea shops.
Massage Oils
Only the highest grade ingredients are found and harvested world-wide to formulate my premium oils and “live” wellness body packs.
Massage oils and muscle manipulation is another factor towards healing and wellness. As a Vancouver healer who is also a massage therapist trained in Europe and Asia, I am swamped with massage bookings including my exclusive luxury oils, herbs and “live” wellness packs. A healing massage combined with my particularly rare blend of undiluted ingredients is unrivaled elsewhere.
The internet is already adequately packed with information and articles describing the benefits of massage therapy, thus I will omit it here.
Understanding Ayurvedic Basics
Origins
Ayurvedic medicine originated from the ancient Hindu sacred texts known as the Vedas. Scholars believe it evolved, gradually incorporating influences from Buddhism and Persian philosophical teachings.
The essence of Ayurveda is contained in two great medical sources written over 2,000 years ago. Copies of these texts, written in Sanskrit on palm leaves, survive today and form the basis of Ayurvedic training.
Concepts of the body
The body is seen as a microcosmic universe in which the five primordial elements (panchamahabhutas) called ether (akasha), air (vayu), fire (agni), water (jala) and earth (prithvi) combine to form three humors or (doshas), known as wind (vata), choler (pitta) and phlegm (kapha).
It's believed each dosha has its own qualities and functions in relation to the body. The balance between these doshas determines individual constitution (prakriti) and predisposition to disease. Constitution is also affected by the strength of a person's 'digestive fire' (Agni) and bowel function (kostha). Seven tissues (dhatus) and their waste products (malas) make up the physical body and a network of channels circulate fluids and essences around the body. Three interdependent universal constituents are the three gunas called purity (sattva), activity (rajas) and solidity (tamas) which also influence health and determine mental qualities. Disease occurs if lifestyle. Mental or external factors cause an imbalance in one or more of these components.
Diagnosis
Typically, the balance of the three doshas is conducted by examing the pulse (nadi), tongue (jihva), voice (sabda), skin (sparsa), vision (drka), general appearance (akrti), urine (mutra) and stool (mala).
Treatment
Treatment aims to restore the balance of the doshas. Herbal medicines are combined with massage and muscle manipulation. Dietary and lifestyle changes are explored. Yoga exercises can be prescribed. There are also five panchakarma purification techniques used for cleansing and detoxifying the body.
Other noteworthy Indian medical practices are Unani Tibb of Islam and the Siddha tradition of the Tamils. As a Vancouver healer, I prefer to use an amalgamation of many traditions and teachings as my approach to healing is open minded.
